CUSTOM STAMPS

Turning your own original artwork into a stamp is easy!  All you need to do is send your artwork to us at customs@rubberstampit.com.  Please send your artwork as either a jpeg. or a Word document attachment, as these items are the easiest for us to open and view.  We will print your artwork, create a negative, and before you know it, your artwork has become a stamp!  All custom stamps are mounted on wood.

There are only a few things to remember when ordering a custom stamp:

(1)  When we receive your artwork, it must be sized to the exact size you want your finished stamp to be.  If we need to resize your artwork, we may charge an additional fee.  If the size change is minimal, no fee will be charged.  However, if you send us a 7 x 8 and ask us to make it into a 1 x 2 (or anything other than a simple 1 point or less resize), we will charge a $5 resizing fee in addition to the cost of the stamp.

       Additionally, please send us the clearest image possible.  Turning your artwork into a stamp  is a "what we see is what you get" process, so a clear, quality image will help to ensure that your stamp comes out as perfectly as possible.  You don't need to send your image in reverse; our process doesn't require a negative image.  Also, with respect to images:

      (a)  Please do not send us color artwork.  All our our stamps are created in black-and-white.  If your original artwork is color, please change it to black-and-white before sending it to us.  If you are not able to do so and ask us to do this for you, there will be a $5 fee added to the price of the stamp.

     (b)   It is very important that you try not to send artwork with the following characteristics:

                 (i)  White print on a black background.  Due to the process we use to create stamps, most times, this will not work.  The black background will absorb most of the ink, and the white print will be very hard to see.  Please reverse the image to make it black print on a white background whenever possible.  We can, of course, try to make the white-on-black work if it's absolutely essential to your design.

                 (ii)  Varying shades of the same/similar color -- for example, gray lettering against a black background.  Again, due to our process, the gray lettering won't come through well.  Black lettering against a white background is the ideal setup whenever possible.

     (c)   Please do not send us a photograph of an image that you would like to have made into a stamp.  Working with actual photographs is very difficult, and we often cannot turn the photo into a satisfactory stamp.  Please send jpeg or Word document drawings of your image.  We can also work from a PDF if necessary, but we will not be able to make any changes, such as sizing, to the design.   Please do not send Illustrator files, as our equipment cannot work with them.

 (2)  In addition to correct sizing, please make sure that all fonts, etc. are the ones you want the finished product to use.  If you are using a "non-traditional" font, please send the font to us along with the artwork.  Unfortunately, if we don't currently have a particular font you are using, our computer will change it to a different font.  You can always email or fax us to see if we have the font you want to use.  Also, please note that there may be problems in creating stamps using "non-traditional" fonts.  We will make every effort to use the font that you desire, but if it becomes obvious that the stamps will not turn out properly using this font (it may be that the font is too condensed, or that the lettering has too many serifs, etc.) we will advise you of this.  In this case, you may select a different font and we will try to make your stamps again.  However, if you do not wish to select a different font, our "no refund" policy will be in full force and effect.

(3)  The process we use to make negatives does not require a reverse image, so please do not reverse the images you send us unless that is how you want the finished stamp to look.

(4)  Please DO NOT send us an idea of what you're looking for and ask us to design a stamp for you.  Truthfully, you really are the only one who knows exactly what you're looking for.  We could create 5 or 6 designs before hitting on the one you had in mind.  And, unfortunately, we have had cases where we have taken the time to create several versions of a stamp, only to have the customer either decide against having the stamp made, or (worse yet) taking our artwork elsewhere to have a stamp made.  However, if you feel that this is the only way you can get the "perfect" stamp, we are willing to work on a design for you, with the following stipulations:

     (a)  An initial, non-refundable fee of $15.00 will be charged for the first design.  This fee must be paid by credit card before the initial design is sent to the customer for approval.  This fee will be charged in addition to the cost of the stamp.  PLEASE NOTE:  THIS FEE APPLIES ONLY IF YOU DO NOT SEND US YOUR DESIGN.  IT DOES NOT APPLY TO CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE A COMPLETED DESIGN THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MADE INTO A STAMP.

     (b)  After the customer reviews the initial design, if changes are requested, a fee of $5.00 will be charged for each change request.  This fee must also be paid by credit card and must be paid prior to the revised artwork being sent to the customer for review.  An additional $5.00 fee will be charged in the same manner for changes requested after each review.

    (c)   Once the design has been approved by the customer, the order will be finalized and the customer's credit card will be charged for the amount of the stamp, plus shipping, handling and any applicable tax.  Please note that due to the highly customized nature of our stamps, no refunds or returns are permitted.

(5)  The prices of custom stamps are based on the overall size of the stamp, rounded up to the closest whole size.  Please refer to the following chart:

We can also prepare a 7" x 9" sheet of your artwork designs.  You will need to set up a sheet of your designs, sizing and spacing each design to your preferences, and email it to us at customs@rubberstampit.com.  The price for the sheet is the same whether you have 3 designs or 30, so you can fit as many designs as you are comfortable with (remember to leave a little room on all sides of an image for cutting) on the sheet, as long as the overall dimensions do not exceed 7" x 9".

Also, as with single images, please note that the process we use to make negatives does not require a reverse image, so please do not reverse the images you send us unless that is how you want the finished stamp sheet to look.

Once we've prepared your sheet of stamps, we will either send it to you as is or place it on our gray foam backing, depending on your instructions.

Pricing is as follows:

          7" x  9" sheet of unmounted stamps, no gray foam backing:       $18.00
         7" x  9" sheet of unmounted stamps, gray foam backing attached:  $21.00

We can cut the stamps apart for you, if you desire, at a cost of  $.75 per stamp design (not per sheet).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING CUSTOM STAMPS

All of our custom stamps are made in accordance with each customer's specific requests.  Therefore, we have a strict NO RETURN, NO REFUND policy.  It is extremely important that the procedure outlined above be followed (especially with respect to sizing your stamps correctly before sending your artwork to us) to ensure that your finished stamp meets your expectations.  We will remake a stamp if you are not happy with the end result, but since the original stamp was made following your instructions, we will need to charge you for the remake (unless the remake is due to an error made on our end).  Please be sure your design is sized correctly before sending it to us, and that it meets all of the requirements listed above.  We appreciate your help in making sure your stamps are everything you want them to be!
